What to expect when you visit FBC

We know its not easy visiting a new church for the first time. You might wonder do I belong here? Am I really welcome? Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly? Will it be easy to leave if I don’t enjoy it? Will they ask me for money? Will my kids enjoy it? How should I dress? Am I welcome if I don’t believe?

As the staff at First Baptist Church, we want to make your visit an enjoyable experience, easy, stress-free, and relaxing. We designed First Baptist Church to be “user-friendly” for people, whatever their background, including those who have never been to church before. If we were visiting a new church for the first time, we’d like to know what to expect, so here is a brief overview.

You’ll notice that everyone is dressed comfortably, in anything from “office casual” to jeans and sneakers. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted warmly by a member or two from our Connection team, who will direct you to have a bagel or cup of coffee (self-serve near the entrance) and pick up information from our Welcome Center in the lobby area.

The service begins with music from our worship team, who play a blend of traditional and contemporary music using a variety of instruments. The offering basket will come around but we do not expect you as a visitor to give, this is for the members of the church to support ministries at FBC and around the world. The message will be based on the Bible and you’ll hear solid Christian theology in intelligent, understandable, and relevant terms.

If you have more questions please feel free to email or call. If you have children or youth and want to find out what to expect for them, please click on the appropriate links from the drop down menu under the Ministries tab.

Thanks for stopping by, we really look forward to meeting you.
